For decades, the Kenya Gazette has kept the masses notified on important Government and non-governmental notices ranging from appointments to land title deeds transfer among others.
Many people, however, do not understand the procedure to have notices published on the Gazette neither do they know the charges.
Since July 2012, the Kenya Gazette, which is managed by the Government Printer, a position currently occupied by Mwenda Njoka, prints a weekly copy of the Kenya Gazette that is released on Fridays. The Printer may release other copies any other day of the week depending on the urgency, under the Special Gazette category.
Types of notices
In a typical issue, the Kenya Gazette handles notices of general nature, the legislative supplement, bill supplement and act supplement.
The Kenya Gazette contains notices of a general nature which do not affect legislation. They are, therefore, submitted to the Government Printer directly.
Legislative Supplement contains Rules and Regulations which are issued by the National or county Governments. Because of this, they must be submitted to the Government Printer through the office of the Attorney–General.
Bill Supplement contains Bills which are for introduction in the National Assembly, Senate or county Assemblies.
Act Supplement contains Acts passed by the National Assembly, Senate or county Assemblies.
Rules and submission procedure
Interested applicants are advised to submit their copies printed prepared on one side of an A4 sheet no matter how small the notice is. Each page should be numbered and typed with double spacing.

Signatures accompanying the copy must be supported by rubber–stamping or typing the name of the signatory in capital letters
Also, care should be taken to ensure that all headings to Notices and references to legislation are up to date and conform with the Revised Edition of the Laws of Kenya.
