Azimio la Umoja One Kenya leader Raila Odinga pointed an accusing finger at defectors who decamped the coalition party to align themselves with the ruling government after the August 9 presidential polls.

Speaking during the burial of Mzee Peter Nyangaga in Seme, Kisumu County on Saturday, October 29, Raila noted that the coalition party ought to have remained united for it would be the key to ensuring good governance.

He termed the move a political betrayal, adding that the national government was mandated to allocate resources to the county governments through devolution.

"The government of Kenya is divided into two; the national and county governments and the latter gets direct allocation from the national government, not because they love you but because they have to give it to you," Raila stated.

The former premier also affirmed that he would announce his next political course in due time and unveil the reason for his loss in the presidential polls.

"I want to inform you that my time for talking has not yet come but once it does, I will not look back. If our people join hands, we will be united and we cannot be intimidated to join the government," he noted.

During the burial, Siaya Governor James Orengo poked holes in the ruling administration which promised to lower the cost of living in its first 100 days.

"The presidency of Raila Amolo Odinga is not a matter of five years or is not a matter of ten years, that is a presidency that we have now if we stand firm and say that in God's name all is possible,” Orengo stated.

The Azimio camp also hinted at the formation of a shadow Cabinet aimed at providing oversight to the current government.

The news came as the ODM party leader urged his supporters to remain calm as he would drop a bombshell in due time.

"When my time to retire from politics comes, I will peacefully exit the stage. There shouldn’t be any discussion about that. Our focus now should be reforming the politics of this country so that democracy may thrive,” Raila stated during the burial of his wife, Ida Odinga's bodyguard.

"Do not give up. Be strong because I am not yet tired. Should I give up or continue? I will give directions on the path we shall take when the time is right."

"Going forward, we want to bring change to our people so that Kenyans can live comfortable lives. That is what service to the nation is all about," he added.
