Renowned actor Brian Ogana, who starred as Luwi Hausa in the popular Citizen TV's Maria show, is set to star in an international project that will feature both local and international casts.
Speaking exclusively to Kenyans.co.ke, the actor explained that the new show incorporated multi-cultural aspects from Tanzania, Nigeria, Kenya and South Sudan.
He added that the series would feature big names across the continent.
Ogana, however, confirmed that he would not be reuniting with any of his former Maria cast.
"It incorporates a multi-cultural aspect from Tanzania, Nigeria, Kenya and South Sudan. The series will feature big names across the continent."
"Expect local stars from the country, unfortunately, I won't be reuniting with any former Maria cast. But there will be stars from the country," he stated.
While revealing the timelines of the new show, Ogana affirmed that the show would begin early next year.
"We have already begun shooting the content. So expect the show to begin around February 2023," he noted.
Ogana, who has been away from the public limelight since March 18, 2021, divulged that the new show's script would entail a different approach from his Maria character and involve more drama.
"There are a few things we are touching base on but one thing I can confirm is that it is going to have crazy drama that has not been witnessed before. For this reason, it will be airing past watershed hours," he stated amidst laughter.
The acclaimed actor, however, affirmed that the show won't air on local channels but would target a more diverse approach.
The actor had caused excitement after he teased a comeback on his social media handles.
"If you were looking for a sign, here it is, Mourine Obare super director. You said the magic is within so stay glued to your screens," he posted.
Maria Show
Ogana acted as Luwi- an affluent lad who fell in love with Maria- a slum girl who was left under the care of her foster mother.
The show captivated the audience due to its intriguing nature and maintained a loyal fanbase till March 18, 2021, when the family drama aired its final episode.
