Second Lady, Dorcas Rigathi, Friday, December 2, explained that the families of both President William Ruto and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua are a key pillar to the government's success.

Speaking at a graduation ceremony at the Bible International University, Rigathi responded to questions about their children's involvement in local and international engagements

She explained that the children were key in promoting family values as a key pillar of society.

“If you have listened to our main principles, they are family people. Some are even asking why they are carrying their wives when they are going out. Others are asking why we are going with our sons and that tells you that our society does not appreciate the family value."

"We cannot afford to sit back and watch as families sink into chaos, we must be ready to speak out to turn around families," she stated.

Dorcas called upon the graduands and Kenyans, by extension, to uphold family values to help solve the social challenges facing Kenya's society.

According to her, the involvement of their sons and daughters in international and local affairs was an indication that both President Ruto and Gachagua are family men.

She rallied Africans to rise and learn to honour the gifts and talents God has given to them, including recognition of community work well done through honorary awards.

The statement by Pastor Dorcas came at a time when various questions were raised regarding the frequent engagements undertaken by President Ruto's daughter both in Kenya and abroad.

Since the inauguration of the Kenya Kwanza government, Ruto's daughter, Charlene Ruto, has held high-profile meetings with various partners.

Among the countries she has toured since September 13 include Morocco and Ghana, where she met senior government officials.

She also toured various counties and held meetings with the respective governors.
