Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) vice chairperson Juliana Cherera were among the top searched personalities on Google in 2022.
In the 2022 Google Trends released on Thursday, December 8, Gachagua topped the list of local personalities, followed by Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua.
Roots party leader George Wajackoyah, Nairobi governor Johnson Sakaja, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu followed the duo.
Cherera, her former boss Wafula Chebukati, Nominated MP Sabina Chege and 100 Meters champion Ferdinand Omanyala followed that order.
On the other hand, Kenyans sought to know state capture, freemason, IEBC's Form 34 A, and opaque, among others.
"IEBC Portal was used to display the presidential results in the 2022 General Elections and topped the general trending searches.
"Kenyans searched for the portal to follow the results as they streamed in from the polling stations as they were eager to know who their next President would be," read the statement in part.
The global search engine also released a list of various search categories such as trending topics, top what is and how to searches during the year as listed below;
