The family of the late Vioja Mahakamani actor Gibson Mbugua alias "Prosecutor' was overwhelmed with grief as they paid a special tribute to the departed thespian.
Speaking during his funeral service in Mahundura, Nyandarua County on Tuesday, January 3, his wife Margaret Njeri eulogized him as a loving and caring husband.
Njeri described his passing as heartbreaking, terming the late Mbugua as the pillar of her life. Nonetheless, she made a promise to him amid tears.
"Parting with you is the most heartbreaking moment of my life. However, I take comfort in knowing that you have rested in glory.
"Thank you for being a pillar in our lives. We shall keep your legacy alive and hold on to the lessons you taught us," she stated amid tears.
His daughter Grace Gathu, remembered him as a supportive father and, for the first time, disclosed that she was the one who donated a kidney to him when he needed a transplant.
"I do not regret donating a kidney to dad because it gave him more time to reconnect with Christ. We will forever carry you in our hearts; rest now you have fought your fight," she noted.
Mbugua's second daughter, Trizza Mwihaki, recounted the moments she spent by his bedside when he was admitted in the intensive care unit (ICU).
Mwihaki termed the late popular actor as a father who pushed them to nature their talents. She sang for him a farewell song as he lay in his coffin.
However, a tribute by his son was cut short as he fell on his knees overwhelmed with grief.
State Department for Culture and Heritage Principal Secretary (PS) Ummy Mohammed Bashir honoured him as a pioneer who used his talent to educate the public.
Bahir revealed that the ministry would ensure that he remains immortalized for his immense contributions.
