“We acted swiftly by sending our officers to the facility and managed to apprehend him following a tip off from members of the public who identified him," Owuoth stated.

Nonetheless, the authorities failed to disclose why the suspect was seeking medical attention. He had been on the run for two days.

The police boss divulged that the the man is currently being held at the Kobujoi Police station where he is being processed.

Furthermore, he confirmed that arrangements were underway to have him transferred back to Nakuru county, where he will be charged.

Police named him as the prime suspect after he was identified as the owner of the house in which the body of Jepleting was found.

An autopsy conducted by government pathologist Titus Ndulungu pointed out suffocation by strangulation as the cause of death.

Ndulungu revealed that Jepleting struggled for breath as the assailant exerted pressure on her throat resulting in asphyxiation. He disclosed that the victim had been dead for five days.

Witnesses who first arrived at the scene reported that Jepleting was bleeding from her facial openings- mouth, nose and ears.

The deceased was the second student to be reported dead in her lover's house in a span of weeks.

Victoria Muthoni, a student at Kenyatta University, was found dead at her boyfriend's house in Kahawa Wendani after she went missing for one week.
