Days after two terror suspects were arrested in Diani, Kwale, police officers unearthed how the duo covertly conducted their operations without getting noticed.
Reports indicated that the two terror suspects posed as delivery riders to advance their activities and effectively managed to rob unsuspecting Kenyans within the coastal region.
Detectives also intimated that earlier on, while abroad, one of the suspects used the guise of the delivery rider to sneak into the United States of America (USA).
However, American detectives thwarted his plans after he was caught without identification documents.
Further reports also revealed that the suspects attempted to sneak into Egypt.
The National Police Service (NPS) pointed out that officers drawn from the DCI acted on an intelligence report that ultimately led to the duo's arrest on Monday, January 2.
This is after one of the suspects was found with an Austrian-made Glock pistol, loaded with 15 rounds.
While appearing before the Criminal Division Court sitting in Mombasa, the police officers were directed to hold him for fifteen days to allow for the completion of investigations.
According to Resila Onya, National Police Spokesperson, the suspect would be reproduced in court within fifteen days, depending on the investigations' directions.
In a police report, one of the suspects was arrested with a Glock pistol of serial number 187, loaded with 15 rounds of 9mm ammunition.
While posing as a delivery rider, the suspect attempted to conceal the gun in a black backpack.
