President William Ruto, on Friday, January 20, made new appointments to key positions in various state corporations and agencies.
Among those who landed plum jobs is Abdi Bare Duale, appointed as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Kenya Electricity Transmission Company Limited.
In a Gazette Notice dated January 20, Ruto appointed Charles Githinji as the Chairperson of the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
In the same Gazette Notice, Cabinet Secretary for Health, Susan Wafula revoked the appointments of Paul Magutu Njaria, Dorcas Wanjiru Ngechu, John Munguti Kisengi, Miriam Wairimu Ndirangu, Stephens Ogutu Oyaya, and Diana Marion as members of the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
This revocation will take effect from January 20, 2023.
Sophy Nekoye Waliaula was further appointed as the Youth Advisory Board’s Non-Executive Chairperson.
At the same time, Fatma Bakari Barayan was tasked with leading the Youth Enterprise Development Fund Board’s Non-Executive Chairperson, while Phillip Mong’ony was named Chair of the State Corporations Advisory Committee.
According to the Gazette Notice of Friday, January 20, 23, individuals appointed by the President will serve for a three-year term.
All the appointments will go into effect on Friday, January 20, 2023, pending other communications from corresponding Ministries.
Ruto also made changes to the Anti-Female Genital Mutilation Board and appointed Surum Ipato Korema as the chair.
He also duly revoked the appointment of Agnes Mantaine Pareiyo, who previously served in a similar capacity at the Anti-Female Genital Mutilation Board.
The appointments came a month after President William Ruto met Kenya Kwanza candidates who lost in the August 2022 General Election and promised them jobs.
