Kenya Power Announces 8-Hour Blackout in 11 Estates in Nairobi

Kenya Power through a public notice announced that eleven areas in Nairobi will experience an 8-hour blackout on Sunday, January 22.

The blackout will be from 9.00 AM to 5.00 PM according to Kenya Power.

Apart from Nairobi, Kenya Power announced that select regions in Busia County would also experience an 8-hour power blackout.

“The selected regions in Nairobi and Busia will be off due to planned maintenance,” Kenya Power stated in the Notice.

In Nairobi, the following areas will be affected; Furniture International, Malplast, Economic Industries, Elgon Kenya, Kengrow, Modulec Ind, and adjacent customers.

Kenya Power further revealed select areas in Lab and Allied region that will have no power.

They include; Lab and Allied, Libra House, Bob Mill, Standard Media Group, Simba Colt, and adjacent customers.

Kenya Power further stated that Umoja Innercore was experiencing a technical fault.

“Umoja Innercore is experiencing a technical fault and our teams are aware. Any inconvenience caused is highly regretted.

‘We urge residents in the region to bear with us as we strive to have the issue resolved as soon as possible,” Kenya Power informed the public.

In Busia County, four areas will be affected and one of the areas is Kenya Power offices in the region.

Other areas include; Western Deluxe, Korinda Prison, and Busia Weighbridge.

“In case you are not in the aforementioned areas and you have a power blackout, assist us with your account/meter number, the specific location and the phone number through our social media handles to enable us to report the matter to our team for assistance.

“You may also dial *977# to easily report power failure,” Kenya Power stated.
