What started as a playful experiment for Aaron Shikhule and his friends turned out to be revolutionary software that would promote integrity in educational institutions.

Shikhule and his friends, David Cyrus and AI engineer Arend Groot, engaged in an experiment where they could not tell whether the text was generated by Artificial Intelligence (AI) or an author. This birthed AICheatCheck.

According to Cyrus, the tool assists professors, and lecturers in universities to assess whether the text was generated by a Generative Pre-trained Transformer (GPT) model.

"The idea was born out of a playful experiment conducted when I used GPT-3 to write a blog post and challenged my colleagues to guess who the author was. No one could."

"Our model helps professors, teachers, and universities tell if a text generated by a GPT model," Cyrus stated as quoted by Nation.

Shikhule noted the crucial role that the software tool plays in promoting the integrity of the educational framework globally.

The team conducted a series of tests among professors and lecturers who revealed the extent of the situation with AI-generated texts taking shape and influencing the majority of students.

"As AI is increasingly present in education, we must protect the integrity of academics with our tools, Shikhule intimated.

Born in Nairobi, Shikhule relocated to Australia aged five years and has lived there since.

According to his LinkedIn page, he graduated with a Bachelor of Biomedical Science from the University of Technology Sydney in 2016. He attained his Master of Public Health- MPH, Health Economic Evaluation from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in 2019.

Kenyans.co.ke conducted a test on OpenAi's chatbot, ChatGPT, prompting the AI to write a detailed article on why most Kenyans are poor.

After running the article on www(dot)AICheatCheck(dot)com, the tool indicated that it was 100 percent written by an AI.

Here is the excerpt:

Kenya, a country located in East Africa, is known for its diverse culture and stunning landscapes. However, despite its natural beauty, the majority of Kenyans live in poverty. According to the World Bank, over 40% of the population lives below the poverty line.

There are several reasons why most Kenyans are poor, including a lack of access to education and job opportunities, high levels of corruption, and a lack of infrastructure and resources.

One of the main reasons why most Kenyans are poor is a lack of access to education and job opportunities. Many Kenyans, particularly those living in rural areas, do not have access to quality education.

Without education, it becomes difficult for individuals to secure well-paying jobs and improve their economic situation. Additionally, many Kenyans are unemployed, with the unemployment rate standing at around 10%.

Another major contributor to poverty in Kenya is corruption. Corruption is a significant problem in Kenya and is often cited as one of the main reasons why the country is unable to develop and improve the lives of its citizens.

Corruption affects nearly every aspect of life in Kenya, from politics and business to healthcare and education. It also hinders foreign investment and economic growth.

Another reason why most Kenyans are poor is a lack of infrastructure and resources. Kenya is a country with enormous potential for growth, but a lack of infrastructure and resources has hindered its development.

The country has poor roads, inadequate water and sanitation systems, and a lack of electricity, which affects the country's ability to attract foreign investment and create jobs.

Moreover, Kenya is one of the most unequal countries in the world with a Gini coefficient of 0.48, which measures the degree of inequality in a society.

The high level of inequality in the country is also a major contributor to poverty, as it means that a small number of people control a large proportion of the wealth, leaving the majority of the population struggling to make ends meet.

In conclusion, Kenya is a country with a lot of potential, but the majority of its citizens are still living in poverty. This is due to a lack of access to education and job opportunities, high levels of corruption, a lack of infrastructure and resources, and a high level of inequality.

In order to improve the lives of its citizens, the government and other organizations need to take steps to address these issues, including investing in education, combatting corruption, and building the necessary infrastructure and resources.
