Locals in Thika town launched a Ksh100 challenge to aid two bright but needy students in achieving their dream of pursuing secondary education.
This was after the story of Victor Wekesa, and Elizabeth Mueni Wambua was highlighted by a local online TV channel, 3T TV.
Wekesa and Mueni sat their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) in 2022 at Queen of Rosary Primary School, scoring 369 and 359 marks, respectively, but could not proceed to high school.
In an interview with 3T TV, their parents revealed that she filled out scholarship documents from a local bank but was yet to receive feedback.

Mueni was expected to report to Senior Chief Koinange Girls High School on Monday, February 6 but could not because of a lack of all the requirements.
She required at least Ksh45,000 for her uniform and term one school fees, which her mother could not raise.
A teacher from the school detailed that they helped the parent access uniforms and food.
"We are requesting for wellwishers to help Victor continue with this education," the teacher appealed.
The locals responded to the call and asked 3T TV to launch a challenge that would see them raise Ksh100,000 needed to get the two students back to school.
"Following our story, people have challenged us to do a #Sh100_Challenge and make sure the two join Form 1 before the deadline," 3T TV revealed in a statement.
