Leaders gathered at the home of Former Education Cabinet Secretary George Omore Magoha on Saturday, February 11, to pay their last respects.
President Uhuru Kenyatta was warmly embraced by the mourners minutes after he was received by ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo and his education counterpart, Ezekiel Machogu.

Other leaders present are the University of Nairobi Vice-Chancellor Professor Stephen Kiama Gitahi and former Kakamega County Governor Wycliffe Oparanya.
As previously ordered by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and the National Police Service officers took charge of the burial activities.
The former Cabinet Secretary's body was transported in a military chopper from Nairobi to Siaya County, where officers and soldiers received it on the ground.
1:30: Dr Barbra Magoha mourns her husband Professor George Magoha at their Umiru home in Siaya County. Dr Barbara apologised to mourners who were alledged blocked from entering the compound. She welcomed all the people of Siaya to her home.
1:05: Former President Uhuru Kenyatta expressed his heartfelt condolence during the burial of Professor Magoha at his home in Umiru village. Uhuru noted that Magoha was a man who loved people regardless of their political affiliation, tribe or race.
12:50: Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga addresses mourners at the burial of Professor George Magoha at his Umiru village in Siaya County.
"I came to know George when he was still a very young man. They are the people who received me when I return to Nairobi from Europe," Raila explained.
Raila explained that he met Magoha while the former Cabinet Secretary George Magoha was a student at Strathmore College.
12:40: Through ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo, President William Ruto mourned the late former Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha as a man who loved his work.
In a statement that was read by Owalo, the Head of State noted that he prayed for the family of Magoha to remain united and in peace during the trial moment.
"Accordingly, we join the Magoha's family for a send-off of a great patriot who loved his country and his students," President William Ruto noted.
Ruto explained that Professor Magoha was an outstanding Surgeon whose dedication led to many medical innovations and breakthroughs.
"I remember Professor Magoha as a great man who did not know how to mince his words. He was forthright and called out unnecessary slowness of the mind," Ruto noted.

11:40: Raila Odinga warmly welcomed at the burial of Professor George Magoha at Umiru village in Siaya County. Raila performed a Luo traditional cultural chant locally known as 'Siguweya' while shouting 'jowi-jowi'.
11:35: Former Defence Cabinet Secretary and the party leader Democratic Action Party - Kenya (DAP-K) Eugine Walamwa arrives at the burial of Professor Magoha.
11:30: Mourners recognised the arrival of Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino at the burial of Professor Goerge Magoho.
11:07: Former CS, Raphael Tuju, and Jubilee secretary general, Jeremiah Kioni greet and also receive Uhuru.
