Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko received a surprise visit from former nominated Member of the County Assembly (MCA) and current Wildlife Principal Secretary Silvia Moseiya.
As the world marked Valentine's Day on Tuesday, February 14, Moseiya shared the celebration with her former boss in his office.
In photos seen by Kenyans.co.ke the ex-Nairobi boss could not hide his joy as he received the day’s gifts Moseiya had brought him.
Sonko revealed that during his tenure in the county, the PS was one of the Members of the County Assembly who stood by him during his impeachment.
He further stated that she risked losing her job by going against other MCAs who had filed for Sonko’s ouster.
“Despite the threats from the former deep state and system, she was one of the 57 loyal MCAs who stood firm with me during the county assembly and senate's illegal impeachment that was politically instigated by the former national government.
At some point, she was suspended as an MCA just for being loyal to me but after moving to the high court she was reinstated,” he stated.
Sonko wished the former MCA success in her recent appointment where she works with the government of President William Ruto.
“She also testified as my witness during the senate's impeachment proceedings,” he added.
Earlier on, Sonko spent some hours visiting the sick in the hospital as a way of showing Valentine's Day kindness to them. He also bought rose flowers for the patients.
Sonko was impeached after 88 MCAs out of 122 voted in favour of the ouster motion. Two Members of the County Assembly opposed the vote while twenty others abstained.
This is despite a court declining to lift orders stopping the impeachment. Governor Sonko had petitioned the High Court to stop the ouster, arguing it was illegal and unconstitutional.
