Former NTV actress Nini Wacera opened up about her life struggles, revealing multiple times she attempted suicide.

Speaking on February 16, through Engage Talk Youtube Channel, Wacera explained how she struggled to fight depression at a tender age after several unsuccessful relationships.

She further revealed that she closed her heart to love after going through suicide attempts due to heartbreaks.

“At 19 years old, after an abortion, I got my stomach pumped, at 25 years old dealing with depression I got my wrist stitched and at 29 years old out of control, I got fished out of a river,” the celebrated actress revealed.

As if that was not enough, Wacera faced yet another horror after she discovered a lump in one of her breasts and so close to her heart in August last year.

Wacera experienced horror while celebrating her nomination in two slots for her outstanding performance on the Country Queen, the first Kenyan series on Netflix.

“I was at home in Elementaita in a celebratory mood taking my passports ready to travel to Zambia to pick my Zikomo award for best supporting actress in Africa,” she noted.

“I am starting to see death as a possibility my mortality is inevitable in my life and it scares me. It makes me question myself. Am I enough? Have I done my best?

"At that time when I felt my t-shirt wet and sticky against my skin due to nipple discharge, I was terrified. I must have cancer," she recounted.

Wacera went on to reveal how she was engulfed with anger, fear, despair, and terror in equal measure as thoughts of leaving her daughter all alone flooded her mind.

"I blamed myself, it must be the smoking and nasty habits I picked while in university, my carnivorous diet or it must be lack of exercise since the last time I worked out was in 2018,” she narrated with pain visible on her face as seen on a clip by Kenyans.co.ke.

Without revealing her health condition, and the cause of the lump, the Nairobi Half-life actress announced that she has been living with hopes that she will one day all will be well.
