Kenyans.co.ke compiled a list of six cool places where it is safe and fun to take your loved ones and unwind.
The places not only have recreational facilities for children, but they are also pocket friendly and have ample parking.
Garden City Mall
Garden City Mall has a kids’ area section completely dedicated to providing fun activities for children.
It is famed for water games and playground games where kids can engage in different sporting activities.
The mall is located along Thika Superhighway, near Kasarani Stadium.
Lu&Mi Kids Village
The kid’s village is situated at Lavington and is best for pre-schoolers who want to engage in fun activities while at the same time advancing their cognitive skills.
The village offers sensory activities, reading, storytelling and other fun activities for children.
Located along Mbaazi Avenue, near the GECO carwash, it is open open weekdays between 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and 11:00 am to 5:00 pm on the weekends.
Diamond Fun City
It is situated inside Diamond Plaza which is located at Parklands in Nairobi.
The kid’s arena is famed for having a skating field, a jumping castle and a trampoline park for children.
Other fun activities include; slides, twisting tunnels, a maze of climbing nets, bumper cars and loads of game consoles making it one of the best places to take your kid for the weekend.
Maasai Ostrich Farm
The farm is situated in Kitengela which is a suburb in the Nairobi Metropolis.
It is a great place to bring your child for bird watching, and ride an ostrich and has dining facilities at the resort.
Uhuru Park
Located a walking distance from the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD), along Uhuru Highway, it is a free park where children can have fun.
It is a great place for sightseeing and boat rides for a family day out.
Nairobi Animal Orphanage
This is a good alternative for parents who cannot afford national park and game reserve charges.
It is a shelter for abandoned or injured wild animals and children are able to see a variety of wild animals up close.
Located on Lang'ata Road, Karen, the park charges Ksh125 for children and Ksh215 for adults.
It is managed by the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS).
