The National Treasury has invited bids for operators for its newly established members-only gym, spa and massage parlour at its Bima house headquarters in Nairobi.
According to tender details seen by Kenyans.co.ke, the bidding will close of April 5th before Treasury's tender committee embarks on the selection of a suitable service provider.
In addition, the ministry stated that the exclusive facility would be free for use by its staff to help them keep fit and bond while at work.
Equipped with ultramodern facilities, it has a capacity of between 250 and 300 users daily at different intervals.
Further, Treasury stated that the gym will open on Monday to Friday from 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM and from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM over the weekends and holidays.
Services that the gym operator will be required to offer include training on physical fitness, aerobic and anaerobic exercises, self-defence, physiotherapy, massage, as well as nutritional training.
“The Health Club is fully equipped with modern equipment for training and is intended to operate daily between Monday and Friday from 5.00 am to 9.00 pm and from 8.00 am to 3.00 pm over the weekends and public holidays or as will be agreed,” The treasury stated in the tender notice.
Other services that will be provided at the fitness centre will include a steam bath and sauna, first-aid awareness lessons, field, and outside training, team building and bonding, and boot camps.
“The proposed service provider will be a competent professional firm club or a consortium of professional experts in physical training.
“Professionals bidding ought to be registered locally with the Ministry of Sports and Youth or any other recognized national, regional, or international sports body and will provide the aforementioned training,” added the notice.
Interested bidders were directed to obtain further information from the National Treasury offices and inspect the tender documents during office hours from 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
"Tenders will be opened immediately after the deadline date and time specified or any deadline date and time specified later.
"Tenders will be publicly opened in the presence of the Tenderers' designated representatives who choose to attend at the address below," added the tender notice.
