Kikuyu Member of Parliament, Kimani Ichung'wah, on Tuesday, March 28, clashed with Citizen TV host Waihiga Mwaura during an interview over the raid of the Kenyatta family-owned farm - the Northlands City Project.
Ichung'wah had claimed that former President Uhuru Kenyatta was sponsoring the Azimio demonstrations and was asked by the news anchor to substantiate his claims.
However, he indicated that he had not carried the evidence with him.
"Has Uhuru Kenyatta told you that he has a problem with me saying he is the financer? Why are you speaking for him? You should have told me that you were coming to interview me on evidence base interrogation," the MP lamented.
"We invited you here. News Night is an accountability show, and you knew you would be asked these things," Waihiga responded.
On the other hand, the MP accused the media of supporting Azimio even as he was pressed by the Citizen TV journalist over his comments on the Northlands farm raid days before the actual incident.
Ichung'wah had queried why the media did not focus much on the destruction of property during the March 20 demonstrations.
According to Mwaura, the majority leader had requested to be hosted on the show to clear the air after he was accused of playing a part in the raid.
During the interview, the Kikuyu MP also noted that the host constantly interjected him as he claimed his fellow guest - Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi, was being given more time.
He asserted that may have been his last interview at the station based along Dennis Pritt Road.
"You will allow me to speak or ask me to walk out, Waihiga, because I cannot be saying something, and you interject. Why did you invite me here?
However, Waihiga maintained that he was fair in the interview and also interjected Osotsi when he needed clarification.
At one point, Osostsi was also asked to retract his statements regarding the security of Raila as he could not also table any evidence to substantiate his claims.
Nonetheless, Ichung'wah maintained that he did not plan the raid, adding that his comments on the viral video circulating on social media were cautionary and not a threat.
Police are yet to issue a statement on the progress of the investigations into Northlands City and Spectre raids.
