The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) on Friday, March 31, announced temporary maintenance on its digital platforms that would affect services for 38 hours.
The authority stated, in a notice, that its team would be conducting scheduled maintenance of iTax, EPG and TIMS.
Further, it noted that the services would be unavailable between Friday, March 31, at 11:59 pm and Sunday, April 2, at 2:00 pm.
The system maintenance will affect all internal and external users.
“Kindly be advised of a scheduled iTax, EPG and TIMS maintenance. We apologise for any inconvenience caused,” the notice read in part.
The services that will be unavailable as a result include filing returns, and the payment of registration for monthly Rental Income done through the KRA app iTax.
In addition, TIMS services including the registration of taxpayers yet to be onboarded, and services for taxpayers dealing in bulk invoicing or facing issues with invoice transmission will also be unavailable.
Earlier on March 27, the Authority called on Kenyans to update details on their personal identification number (PIN) on the portal.
It explained that the developments were in the wake of a clean-up of the taxpayer register.
Members of the public were directed to correct details on their name, phone number, email address, residency status, and physical location of businesses, directorships, and partnerships held.
"The exercise is aimed at ensuring the integrity of the taxpayer's register to enhance service delivery to all taxpayers," the notice read in part.
Kenyans who experience difficulty in making the changes were asked to reach out to the contact centre on the phone or send an email to the call centre (at)kra.(dot)go(dot)ke.
