" Your death left a gaping hole in my life that I fill with the love we shared," read DJ Brownskin's message to his lover, Sharon Njeri Mwangi on July 30, 2022, a day after her demise.
In a post on Instagram, the popular DJ shared a photo of his family including Njeri and their two children with a birthday sash wrapped around the fiancée.
The post received tremendous responses with Brownskin's colleagues and friends sending their condolences.
Five months later, the DJ shared a message to his fiancée on the day that Njeri would have celebrated her birthday. He reminisced of their fond memories of their relationship.
"Happy birthday love. You are my greatest treasure and I adore you with all I got. For this life I'm living, I'm gonna celebrate you day in day out. All the memories we created, they'll be forever be part of me and I'm gonna treasure every single moment forever.
"Our princess and prince are doing just fine and only thing that's missing from their lives and mine is your pretty smile and beautiful face that we all loved and adored.
"It was you, it's you and always will be you princess. From earth and beyond, happy birthday love," he stated.
On Sunday, April 2, a video went viral for the better part of the day whereby a recording, purported to be from DJ Brownskin, showed Njeri ingesting a substance and beginning to show signs of distress.
In the seven-minute video, Njeri sends messages to her family, indicating that she loved them and wished them well.
The video ended with their son and the househelp rushing to Njeri's side in a bid to give her some milk. The video raised more questions as to the purpose of Njeri ingesting the substance while being recorded.
According to an obituary seen by Kenyans.co.ke, Njeri Mwangi died on July 29, 2022, and was buried at her father’s rural home in Koimbe Weithaga Village, Murang’a County, on August 6, 2022.
