Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja on Tuesday, April 4, appointed former Kiss 100 presenter Shaffie Weru to a county job.

Shaffie was appointed as the Head of Events and Branding for the Nairobi County Government and will oversee the planning and execution of all indoor and outdoor events headlined by the county.

Communication from the county government confirmed the appointment of the presenter to Kenyans.co.ke.

On his social media platforms, the presenter shared congratulatory messages from friends and fans who expressed confidence in him heading the department.

Some of the county events the presenter was part of include the Nairobi Festival and the upcoming Battle of the Choirs.

In an interview with Nation, Shaffie detailed his vision for his new role comparing Nairobi to New York in the US and Paris in London.

"It is not only about my vision but the vision of my governor as outlined in his manifesto to make Nairobi work. I want the Governor's dream of a city of order and dignity achieved as we make Nairobi work," the presenter told the media outlet.

On January 30, the presenter unveiled two new online shows one titled Shafted, two years after his dramatic exit from Kiss 100.

“Have you been Shafted? Have you Shafted Yourself? Who better than Shaffie Weru in telling it like it is,” the presenter stated.

"Shafted explores if they deserve their public disgrace or were misunderstood and canceled for no reason," he added.

Radio Africa Group sacked Shaffie in March 2021 alongside his co-host Neville Musya and a popular DJ Joseph Munoru aka Joe Mfalme.
