Govt Announces 109 Vacancies Ranging From Directors to Drivers, How to Apply

The Office of the Auditor General on Tuesday, April 18, announced that it was seeking suitable candidates to fill 109 job opportunities from across the country.

In a statement, OAG urged all interested applicants to make submissions before May 5, 2023.

The advertised positions ranged from the director of audit, director of corporate planning, strategy and resource mobilisation, finance manager, office service manager, audit associate II, records management officer I, assistant office administrator II, assistant receptionist, clerical officer, and
drivers.

The associate auditor II position attracted the highest number of vacancies at 80 followed by director of audit (6), assistant office administrator II (5), drivers (), and records management officer I (4).

How to Apply

All applicants were directed to indicate clearly the post they applied for, their full name, and relevant testimonials.

They were also directed to attach relevant documents such as their National ID, academic and professional certificates, telephone number, and email address.

"It is an offense to provide false information and documents in job applications. The Office shall take appropriate action on any applicant who shall be found to have presented false information and/or documents," read part of the notice.

Applicants are advised to visit the online portal via recruitment.oagkenya.go.ke and www.oagkenya.go.ke for more information on their preferred job position.

Furthermore, the notice called for applications from all Kenyans as the Office of the Auditor General was an equal opportunity employer that seeks diversity in the workforce.

"Only shortlisted and successful candidates will be contacted. Canvassing of any form will lead to automatic disqualification," applicants were warned.

The move is aimed at lowering the rate of unemployment in Kenya. According to statistics from the World Bank (2022), the rate of unemployment in Kenya rose from 2.8 per cent in 2016 to 5.7 per cent in 2020 and 2021.

To deal with the crisis, the government challenged Kenyans to venture into self-employment to be self-reliant.
