"The heroine was concealed in the false bottom of his bag," read part of the statement from the Customs Department.

Police seized the heroine as evidence while the suspect was placed in custody as investigations began.

In February, an airline attendant from Kenya was arrested at the Mumbai airport with 22.94 kilograms of heroin.

Reportedly, the drugs were in a passenger's luggage connecting flights from Zimbabwe, and their luggage was not checked at the airport.

The incident occurred days after a Kenyan woman was arrested in Ghana for being in possession of Ksh41 million of cocaine from Kenya.

She was apprehended at the Kotoka International Airport attempting to smuggle the drug. According to the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) in Ghana, the lady was arrested during a routine check.

The lady had concealed the drugs inside different food packets in her suitcase.

According to the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, of 1985 in India, it is illegal for a person to produce, manufacture, cultivate, possess, sell, purchase, transport, store, and or consume any narcotic drug.

Cocaine, heroin, opium, and cannabis are among the banned substances in Kenya.
