Machakos County Announces 500 Job Vacancies; How to Apply

Machakos County, on Thursday, April 27, announced 500 vacancies in various positions that will be filled after interviews by the County Service Board. 

The applicants, at entry and senior levels, will aid Governor Wavinya Ndeti in securing her development agenda. 

Deputy Director Administration and Assistant Director Administration positions were listed among the topmost vacancies.  

Other senior positions included Principal Administration Officer (2), Chief Accountant (1) and Senior Supply Chain Management Officer (1).

Among the junior-most positions were Clerical Officer,  Chief Driver and Fireman III, with over 50 vacancies. 

Other junior-most positions included Enrolled Nurse for Emergency Medical Services and County Askaris, which had 300 vacancies with successful applicants tasked with enforcing law and order in the devolved unit.

"Applicants should upload certified scanned copies of their academic certificates, professional Certificates from tertiary institutions and National Identification Cards.

"For the above vacancies, applications must be received on or before May 12, 2023, by 5 pm.  Any applications tendered later than the above date and time will not be able to upload," read part of the statement. 

How to Apply

Machakos County Service Board stated that interested and qualified persons should fill out the online application form accessible from the Machakos County website - www.machakos.go.ke/jobs.

They were also required to produce originals National Identity Cards, academic and professional certificates and transcripts during interviews. 

The County warned that presenting fake certificates or documents to the public service board was a criminal offence.

"Candidates with foreign Qualifications should get clearance from the Commission for University Education (CUE). It is an offence to include incorrect information in the application. 

"Details of academic and professional certificates not obtained by closure of the advert should not be included," the County Service Board advised, adding that it offers equal opportunities to women, persons with disabilities and other disadvantaged groups.
