The United Democratic Alliance (UDA), led by President William Ruto, on Friday, May 2, made changes to its communication team.
In a statement from the party Secretary General Cleophas Malala, former Capital FM journalist Rob Jillo was appointed as the new Party Director of Communication.
"We are thrilled to announce that we have a new Communications team in place. With fresh knowledge and expertise, we are confident that this new team will help us continue to grow and strengthen our communication efforts. Congratulations to the new team leaders and their upcoming teams," UDA announced.
Jillo will have two deputies, Benjamin Wandualo, who will oversee Public Relations and Marketing, and Moses Njagi, who will serve as the Party Chief Editor responsible for messaging.
On the other hand, Yusuf Omete was selected as the new Head of Digital for the Party, deputised by Antonella Kokuko.
"With Jillo's leadership, we are confident that our Party's communication strategy will continue to thrive and evolve in the Democratic space.
"As the Head of Digital, Omete will play a critical role in ensuring that we reach our audience effectively," Malala stated.
Meanwhile, UDA appointed Antony Ngeru Muburi to head the Communication Research and Media monitoring desk.
Malala welcomed the new team, affirming they will succeed in their new roles.
"We look forward to the innovative ideas and impactful strategies that they will bring to our party," added the Sec Gen.
Meanwhile, before his recent appointment, Jillo worked at Miller and Miller Advocates after leaving Capital FM, where he worked as the Online Editor.
He has over 20 years of media experience and holds a Mass Communication diploma.
