A traffic cop operating along Ngong Road was praised for his friendliness and exemplary service.
The cop was also recognised for his professionalism and humanity toward motorists plying the route.
According to some of the motorists, the cop is jovial, and efficient, and always serves them with a smile.
"This officer deserves a promotion. You will never encounter traffic at Posta on Ngong Road. He is so swift and gives total concentration in his job," one motorist narrated.
They urged the Inspector General of Police to promote or reward the officer.
Additionally, the motorist noted that the cop was never on his phone while controlling traffic, a behaviour common with other traffic officers.
Motorists noted that the officer was efficient and reliable, adding that he ensured traffic moved smoothly, allowing them to get to work on time.
"One problem with him getting a promotion is that a rude and unfriendly officer may replace him," another motorist lamented.
However, one questioned why the officer should be recognised as he was only doing his job as a traffic officer.
"Official recognition for doing what he is supposed to do?" another added.
In April 2023, an off-duty traffic cop from Nakuru County warmed the hearts of Kenyans as she controlled traffic in unofficial clothes at night.
Reportedly, the officer was shopping nearby when she noticed the snarl-up at the roundabout. She immediately put on a police reflector jacket to control the traffic.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki, on May 9, was also impressed by a prison police officer who showcased his poetry and spoken word skills.
Kindiki ordered the constable to be promoted to corporal immediately and personally bestowed a badge of honour on his sweater.
