Nominated Member of Parliament Sabina Chege on Sunday, May 21, referred to elected Jubilee politicians as orphans.

The MP was speaking during a church service in Isiolo that President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua were in attendance.

Chege, while terming herself and colleagues as orphans, begged former President Uhuru Kenyatta to come back to the party in an advisory role.

“As Jubilee members, we respect our former party leader but his six months at the apex of leadership lapsed and we will soon go to the grassroots for an overhaul in the party leadership.

“I supported you Uhuru until the last moment and I beg you since you are old, to be advising us instead of partaking in demonstrations,” she begged the former President.

The nominated MP further revealed that she would be elated to see Uhuru bless some of the young Jubilee leaders.

Chege praised Ruto for embracing Jubilee and allowing its members to be part of the government.

“You have been our friend and we are the one’s who have been left at Jubilee the party you helped co-found.

“I want to assure you that we are reviving the party that you left for us,” she told the Head of State.

The former Murang'a Woman Representative further thanked Ruto for standing with Isiolo Senator Fatuma Dhullo when she was kicked out as Senate Minority Whip by Azimio.

“We will continue supporting Ruto because our party leader Uhuru gave him the instruments of power. We therefore cannot say we do not respect the President,” she added.

Sabina further dismissed the National Delegates Convention (NDC) that Uhuru convened on Monday, May 21.

“Tomorrow there will be no NDC so disregard the notice that was sent out as it is propaganda. Those who will attend it will just be a normal political rally,” she remarked.

Dullo, speaking at the same event revealed that she was kicked out of Minority Whip due to discriminatory politics.

“We campaigned for Raila Odinga but when we went to parliament, Azimio told us that Isiolo did not vote for Raila.

“I vowed it is better to be a backbencher in politics instead of being in a coalition that did not prioritise my people,” she explained the intrigues behind her ouster.

On Tuesday, May 2, Sabina Chege was controversially appointed by a faction of the party to act as its leader replacing Uhuru.

A faction led by embattled Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni dismissed the move maintaining that Uhuru was still the party leader.
