Citizen TV anchor Hassan Mugambi, tied the knot, on Friday, June 9, in a colourful Islamic ceremony.
The investigative reporter was pictured wearing Islamic wedding attire, including a navy blue kanzu with a matching headwrap.
Mugambi was accompanied by his colleagues, including Swahili anchor Rashid Abdalla and fast-rising political journalist, Ayub Abdikadir. South Mugirango member of parliament, Sylvanos Osoro, also graced the wedding.
In a video seen by Kenyans.co.ke, Mugambi was recorded humming Islamic songs inside a flashy matatu fitted with graffiti. Besides him were all-smiling Rashid Abdalla and Abdikadir.
By the time of this publication, the details and whereabouts of the bride had not been publicised.
However, his colleagues shared the news on various platforms congratulating him on his holy matrimony.
"Congratulation on your wedding day," political reporter Seth Olale wrote.
"May Allah guide you Hassan Mugambi as you embark on a solemn contract on your wedding day," Ayub added.
Citizen TV news Director Monica Kiragu, sports veteran anchor Mike Okinyi, and other colleagues also congratulated the investigative journalist on his wedding.
Mugambi started his media career at Pamoja FM, a community-based radio station based in Kibera. He used the platform to master the Swahili language.
His big break came after he was hired by K24 TV, where he worked for five years before joining Citizen TV in 2017.
During a past interview, Mugambi revealed that he borrowed a suit to look elegant on his first job interview.
"I remember standing up and seeing the number beginning with 020...wondering who was calling me. Then the voice on the other side said, 'Hi, I'm Richard Kagoye from K24.'
"That was like the best phone call I had received in a long time. He told me that I was required to go for a screen test on Sunday and needed to be in a suit," Mugambi narrated.
