The parents of Linet Wairimu from Ruai were heartbroken after their daughter went missing without a trace. She deceived them that she was going to work to attend a forum organised by the company she worked for.

According to the parents who spoke on Inooro TV's Wathire Ku show, Wairimu left home in late May 2023, prompting her worried parents to start a search in the neighbourhood which culminated in them reporting the disappearance to the police.

However, they later discovered that she had left her phone and did not return home for a month. She also broke contact with her family.

"She was heading to Nairobi in the morning. I was surprised to find her phone in the house when I came back in the evening," the heartbroken mother stated.

"We are hopeful she will be found. We trust God to bring our daughter home alive," the mother added.

The father suggested that the Egerton University graduate fell into depression after her grandmother died shortly after her graduation in 2018.

"If anyone has seen my daughter, please talk to her kindly and politely. Ask her to come home," the father pleaded.

The father revealed that after her graduation, Linet went to live with her grandmother who fell ill and eventually passed away.

"Her childhood was normal except when she was bitten by a dog while protecting her siblings from the vicious attack. She was in the hospital for a while," the father added.

Additionally, the parents revealed that Wairimu was under medication after the loss of her grandmother took a toll on her.

It was also revealed that Linet went missing several times in the past albeit briefly, but always came back eventually.

Fortunately, on Saturday evening July 1, Simon Kibe, the host of the show announced that Wairimu had been found in Kahawa West.

"Linet Wairimu Kagunyi has been found safe she is back home, she was in Kamae area, Kahawa West, Nairobi County. Thank you, God," Kibe stated.
