Residents at an apartment in Nairobi were up in arms following a break-in incident that took place on Sunday, July 2, during the day.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, one of the neighbours revealed how the suspect accessed the apartment after craftily evading the caretaker and subsequently broke into the lady's house at a time when the CCTV cameras were not working.

The suspect proceeded to the third floor of the building and was seen pacing side to side while trying to peek inside the house.

He then knocked on the door for hours, broke the window and forced his way into the apartment. He, however, did not find the lady and decided to pitch camp at the residence.

Upon learning about the development, irate neighbours gathered and decided to wait on the suspect at the door.  Minutes later, he was busted while sneaking out through the window.

Police officers, who were dispatched to the scene, apprehended the suspect.

One of the neighbours also claimed that the suspect colluded with one of the security guards who tipped him off that the lady was with another person at the house. At the time of the break-in, the lady was, however, away at her parent's house.

Others advised the lady to get a restraining order to dissuade the suspect from infringing into her privacy.

This incident raised questions over insecurity in Nairobi and its environs. A few weeks earlier, concerns were raised after CCTV cameras captured robbers targeting private homes in Syokimau. On Monday, June 19, the CCTV cameras captured the suspects stealing multiple items of an undisclosed value.

The trio initially targeted a vehicle parked outside a residential property, swiftly seizing the opportunity to steal the valuables left unattended in the car.

The robbers approached the home, executed their mission calmly, unperturbed by their surroundings before making away minutes later in a getaway car.

The incidents raised concerns about the safety of the residents and their property with a section of Kenyans claiming that the robberies were inside jobs.
