The Presidential Working Party on Education Reforms is presenting its final Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) report to President William Ruto at the State House, Nairobi. 

Some of the highly anticipated changes in the report released on Tuesday, August 1, touch on Junior Secondary Schools (JSS), abolition of national exams and national schools.

3:29 pm: Ruto orders all ministers to coordinate to ensure the CBC report is enacted. 

3:08 pm: Ruto slams activists who went to court to bar the government from launching the food programme for students. 

3:05 pm: Government plans to hire teachers in two weeks to raise the tutor-to-student ratio. 

2:56 pm: Ruto proud of CBC task force, and congratulates them for a job well done. 

"We have addressed all the concerns that were affecting our children. We didn't even wait for the full report. We kept on implementing the proposals since we assumed office."

2:52 pm: Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua praises President William Ruto for making reforms on CBC. 

2:49 pm: Raphael Munavu, the chairperson of the Task Force, hands over the report to President William Ruto and his deputy, Rigathi Gachagua. 

Other copies are handed over to the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and other stakeholders. 

2:47 pm: Some CBC reforms are already underway. Raphael Munavu says. 

2:45 pm: Parliament urged to play a critical role in the implementation of CBC reforms. 

"We need to have a way on which, on an annual basis, we have a special day to celebrate distinguished students, lecturers and other education stakeholders. We can call it the Education Revival Day, where we look at whether we have reached milestones set." 

2:44 pm: Munavu advises Ruto to form a committee to monitor and track the implementation of the CBC reforms. 

2:41 pm: The chairperson of the CBC Task Force, Professor Raphael Munavu, says that the views of parents, teachers and stakeholders were considered before the report was compiled. 

2:30 pm: Education CS Ezekiel Machogu assures President William Ruto that his ministry will ensure all proposals made are enacted.
