Ruto Mourns MCA Killed in Accident

President William Ruto has mourned Nyamira County Majority Leader Elijah Osiemo, who passed away in a road accident on Monday, August 7. 

In a statement released on Tuesday, August 8, the Head of State eulogised Osiemo as a young and industrious leader who dedicated himself to the betterment of his constituents. 

In his message of condolence, President Ruto wished peace and emotional solace to the family of the MCA as they face one of their most challenging moments. 

"We join the people of Nyamira in mourning the passing of County Majority Leader Elijah Osiemo following a road accident Monday evening.

"We pray for the quick recovery of his Deputy Duke Masira and nominated MCA Priscilla Nyatichi, who are in the hospital undergoing treatment," Ruto's condolence message read in part. 

According to a statement from the Executive Office of Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo, the deceased, Elijah Osiemo, was travelling in a car with other occupants when the accident occurred along Maai Mahiu-Naivasha Road in Nakuru County.

Nyaribo stated that two other injured Members of the County Assembly were rushed to Naivasha Level Four Hospital for treatment and stabilisation, pending guidance from medical professionals who were assessing their progress.

"In Elijah Osiemo, the County has lost a young, industrious, talented, and focused leader who had an immense leadership and political life ahead of him," Nyaribo eulogised. 

"I take this opportunity to wish the injured MCas a quick recovery and offer my heartfelt condolences to the late Osiemo's family, residents of Nyamaiya Ward, and Nyamira County," he added. 

Nominated Senator Esther Okenyuri, a representative who hails from the same region, also expressed her condolences and tried over the loss of her friend, Osiema.

Okenyuri highlighted that MCA Osiema was a visionary leader with a promising political career. 

"The people of Nyamaiya Ward have lost a focused and dedicated leader who put the interests of his people first," Senator Okenyuri stated. 

"During this moment of grief, we pray for the soul of the departed, his family, and the people of Nyamaiya Ward. Quick recovery to the other members in the hospital," the nominated senator wished the family well.
