On Saturday, Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen visited the Kenya Aviation Authority (KAA) offices after the country's leading airport, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), experienced a power outage.
During the meeting, Murkomen sent home former KAA Managing Director Alex Gitari and Fred Odawo, General Manager of Project and Engineering Services and Abel Gogo, JKIA Airport Manager, who was transferred to Mombasa Airport.
Dressed in a black collared T-shirt and light grey pants, Murkomen strutted into the KAA offices donning Navy Blue Gucci sneakers, displaying a generous supply of the luxury brand's logo, valued at Ksh131,000 (USD920).
According to the manufacturer's site, the shoe, which comes in four variations colourwise including blue, black, beige and brown colours, was manufactured in Italy.
"Mirroring the material's historic origins, GG Supreme is introduced in a timeless mix of blue and beige for Gucci Love Parade," reads a description of the footwear.
"The canvas has come to the front of each collection decade after decade to become a hallmark of the House. Here, the classic palette defines this pair of sneakers."
The shoe was meticulously designed with black and blue leather trim, blue perforated leather details and an interlocking G print at the back.
Other features include a rubber sole, an additional pair of laces and a lace-up closure.
For maximum output, Gucci, which is headquartered in Florence, Italy, and owned by French Businessman François-Henri Pinault, advises its customers to protect the product from direct light, heat and rain.
Should the shoe become wet, wearers are advised to dry it immediately with a soft cloth and clean it with a soft, dry cloth or brush.
The Ksh131,000 price tag is devoid of the shipping costs, which Gucci charges Ksh3,570 (USD25) for a business day delivery. Alternatively, buyers can include the order as part of their premium express.
