Kimberley Leonard, the Kenyan News anchor who graced the screens of London-based Sky News, has formally bid farewell to the station, bringing her seven-year stint at the media stable to an end.

Her last appearance coincided with the aggressive coverage of the UK airspace which encountered technical challenges leading to plane delays that impacted a multitude of passengers.

The parting shot featured a conversation with Sky News' science correspondent, Thomas Moore, followed by a seamless transition to a weather update.

"I'm so overwhelmed right now. That was quite a shift! Thank you so much for watching and for all the messages. I nearly didn't get through the weather," she stated.

Her colleagues conveyed their sentiments of sadness as she departed, acknowledging her pivotal role at the station.

"Sad to see the very talented Kimberley Leonard leaving Sky News, going out on a day of breaking news of near-chaos in the air and chaos over sexism in Spanish football. Nenda kwa amani na bahati mzuri (Go well and good luck)," stated Sky News producer Anwar Tambe.

"My memory. Green stones on a black background, are the perfect combination. We will miss you," stated Mechanical Engineer Sérgio Fernandes.
