The CCTV footage of a Land Rover driver crashing into Tamasha Lounge in Hurlingham area of Nairobi has surfaced.

The nine-second clip released on Sunday night indicated that the incident occurred on Saturday during the day.

In the clip, two onlookers who were next to the restaurant are seen scampering for safety as the vehicle approached the establishment.

Earlier, images of the high-end automobile inside the lounge made rounds on social media arousing suspicions that its driver may have been drunk at the time of the crash.

Reports indicated that the crash occurred on Saturday at around 6:00am while the driver was leaving the joint.

It was, however, unclear whether anyone sustained injuries in the incident but a majority of revelers had already left the lounge.

The extend of the damage on the car's expensive exterior is also still unclear.

According to the Traffic Act of 2022, a driver convicted of drunk-driving faces up to two years jail term or a fine of Ksh100,000.

The new fine was a significant increase from Ksh10,000 imposed in a previous act governing the sector. The convicted felons will also see their licenses revoked for a period of one year.

Those found speeding risk a six-month jail term, licenses revoked for up to three years and a fine of Ksh20,000.
