40-Year-Old Man Murdered In Bungoma Over Love Triangle

Police officers in Mount Elgon, Bungoma County have began investigations into the death of a 40-year old man suspected to have been murdered over a love affair.

In a statement, the National Police Service (NPS) said the deceased was found lying in a pool of blood on the floor of his house in Mt. Elgon, Bungoma County.

According to the statement, police suspect the deceased was stabbed by a man who suspected him of having a love affair with his wife. The police also believe that the deceased succumbed to his wounds following the incident.

To this end, the officers recovered  a kitchen knife and a blood-stained bed sheet from the scene of the crime which have now been marked as exhibits.

The deceased was rushed to Mt. Elgon Sub- County Hospital where he was unfortunately pronounced dead while undergoing treatment.

Consequently, the deceased's body was transported to Dreamland Mission Mortuary where it awaits an autopsy.

One suspect was arrested and taken into police custody in connection to the murder as police investigations on the case continue.

This comes even as police continue to report deaths related to love affairs.

In January 2023, a 47-year-old teacher from Nyamira County, who had gone missing on December 30, 2022 was discovered dead in the home of a nurse. 

His body was found mutilated, leading the police to classify the case as a potential homicide.

Similarly, in Kipiriri Constituency, Nyandarua County,  an elderly police officer lost his life in June 21, due to a suspected love affair.
