Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi on Saturday attended the traditional wedding of his daughter Maryanne Mudavadi.
The colourful event held in Mt Kenya was attended by several senior politicians and prominent personalities
Maryanne was getting married to lawyer Nyaga Karanja in a traditional Kuara Itara wedding ceremony.
The Kuara Itara traditional wedding is a popular custom in the Kikuyu Community and is done to allow the bride's family to see their daughter's nesting place being done at the groom's home.
The event is held after the Ruracio (dowry payment) at the bride's home.
The ushers at the exclusive traditional wedding wore navy blue dresses decorated with golden stripes and buttons.
On the other hand, the groom wore a brown and cream outfit that complemented his skin tone.
Mudavadi and the guests donned various outfits ranging from; semi-casual attire like African shirts to formal suits. The gentlemen complemented their looks with a white Panama hat with a bright blue stripe.
"As it is in the scripture, God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him. So the Lord has found Nyaga a helper, our daughter Maryanne Mudavadi. May God strengthen your marriage," noted one of their guests.
The reception was a site to behold with each table adorned with a bouquet of colourful flowers mostly in Orange to match the theme.
The tables were well-labelled with orange cloth and patterned napkins.
Guests also had a chance to take photos at a designated photo booth with the initials M & N on the back representing Maryanne and Nyagah.
This was the second traditional wedding organised by the love birds with one held in Vihiga County, in Mudavadi's rural home.
Maryanne serves as a recruiter, a job she has held since January 2022.
In 2019, she volunteered at the Mudavadi Memorial Foundation Trust (MMFT) for four months.
She holds a Master's Degree in Human Resources Management/Personal Administration from a university in England and a Bachelor's Psychologist from the same institution.
