According to the notice, Kenha stated that the reason for the closure of the road was due to constant floods that have been witnessed at the place.

They are therefore planning to construct a cross culvert that will help to collect storm and rainwater along Mombasa Road.

‘’This is to allow for the construction of a cross culvert to collect stormwater from Mombasa Road to solve the perennial flooding at the location,’’ KenHa stated in their notice.

The Authority also advised all road users using the road to access Imara Daima and Estates surrounding the place to use alternative roads.

Further advising that motorists can turn towards Moses Tanui Road Junction at Tuffsteel which sits behind Imara Daima mall then access the Cosmas Ndeti Road.

KeNHA further advised motorists approaching the area to take caution of the ongoing construction and urged them to follow traffic guidelines.

The authority in recent weeks has been constructing and improving drainage systems along various roads and highways in Nairobi as they anticipate El Nino rains.

The closure comes barely a month after the authority closed a section of the Mombasa Road for nine days for to allow for the construction of a deceleration lane into Kyang'ombe Slip Road.

Another road that was closed earlier was Kenyatta Avenue (at Uhuru Highway Roundabout) for 19 days, effective July 25 as the authority planned the re-installation of a Cross Culvert across the avenue.
