Two families from Igembe constituency in Meru County are in mourning after they discovered the body parts of their kin dumped on the road days after they went missing.

According to one of the deceased's wives who spoke to the press on Saturday, the family has confirmed some of the body parts belong to two relatives while a third member of the family is still missing.

While narrating the events, the wife stated that the 3 victims left home heading towards Kenna Forest but never returned.

When the family noticed that something was amiss, they started making phone calls which went unanswered. The next course of action was to put together a search party.

However, days down the line, they were shocked to be informed that their kin's body parts including a head and an arm had been found scattered by the roadside. It was at this point they identified her husband.

"When we left in search of them all we found was my husband's head and an arm in one place. We found the second head in another location," she stated.

The other deceased person's wife detailed how her calls to the husband went unanswered before she found his head and parts of his torso.

It is alleged that the victims were killed after purchasing cows and their bodies dumped in the forest and later eaten by hyenas.

One of the victims is still missing. The family is now calling upon the authorities to conduct prompt investigations to get to the bottom of the matter.

The wife of the third victim only found her husband's shoes and clothing at the scene. She is clinging to the hope that her better half may be still alive.

The 3 widows are staring at the possibility of raising their children alone and becoming their families' breadwinners as they await investigations to be concluded.

"We pray they conduct their investigations to reveal what happened in the forest and arrest those involved," one of the widows remarked.

The families were forced to bury the body parts in the state which they were recovered from the scene.
