The Kenya Meteorological Department has revealed eight Nairobi Estates are expected to experience rainfall over the next two days.
In a forecast published on Sunday morning, the authority listed Starehe, Makadara, Kamukunji and Embakasi West among the estates that are expected to experience rainfall imminently.
Other areas are Embakasi Central, Embakasi North, Mathare and Ruaraka.
"Nairobi Weather Update: Expect light to moderate rains over the western parts of Nairobi," read the forecast in part.
Nyeri, Murang'a, and Kiambu counties, on the other hand, will experience moderate to heavy rainfall of above 20mm in a span of 24 hours.
Northern Kenya continues to receive heightened rainfall of above 47.9mm in Marsabit and above 17.9mm in Moyale.
On Saturday morning, heavy rainfall also hit Kodopa, Loima, Turkana County.
"Rainfall is expected to continue over several parts of the country. Isolated storms are likely to occur in some areas including the Highlands East, West of the Rift Valley and North-eastern Kenya," forecast ending October 31 indicated as per Kenya Met.
"Strong easterly to south-easterly winds of more than 25 knots (12m/s) expected over parts of Turkana and Marsabit counties."
Earlier, the department had cautioned Kenyans in 16 counties to brace themselves for potential flooding as the country prepares to experience heavy rainfalls.
Counties to experience flooding include; Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, Isiolo, Embu, Nyeri, Kiambu, Nyandarua, Laikipia, Murang'a, Meru, Kirinyaga, Tharaka Nithi, Kwale, and Mombasa.
“From Saturday 28th October, it is likely to spread to several parts of Northeastern, the Central Highlands and South Coast. These rains are likely to be accompanied by gusty winds,” read the Met report.
Residents in the counties were, therefore, advised to be on the lookout for potential floods and possible destruction of property.
