Tiaty MP William Kamket was summoned by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) alongside his two colleagues in Parliament on Tuesday.

The summons were issued by Rift Valley Region DCI coordinator Charles Kanyuira on Monday with the MPs instructed to appear at the Nakuru DCI offices without fail.

Also summoned for grilling were Sigor MP Peter Lochakapong and Sigor MP Peter Lochakapong.

It was explained that the leaders were summoned over allegations that were inciting their residents.

DCI indicated that the MPs would also use the opportunity to record a statement over the allegations.

However, the exact statements made by the leaders and allegations being referred to by the DCI were not highlighted.

In videos accessed by Kenyans.co.ke, the trio appeared for grilling minutes past 9 a.m. alongside other local leaders from Pokot.

The leaders did not comment on the summons at the time of the publishing.

Notably, the summons were issued following incidents of violence that have been witnessed in the region in recent weeks. The area has been marred with bandit attacks.

The summons also comes amidst the ongoing joint security operation in the Rift Valley being undertaken by the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and the National Police Service (NPS).

The operation began in February with the forces still in the vast area.
