The Public Service Commission (PSC) on Monday informed the public that the agency's jobs portal had collapsed.
In a statement, PSC urged job seekers to exercise patience as technicians worked to ensure that the portal was restored in a timely manner.
"The commission website is currently down and our ICT experts are doing their best to restore the system. We apologize for the inconveniences caused," the commission stated.
Following this development, PSC gave job seekers the alternative of visiting pscims.publicservice.go.ke/jobs/ to continue with their applications.
The online portal is a strategic platform built to provide a secure aggregated channel where Kenyans can secure government jobs.
A section of Kenyans urged PSC to hasten the restoration as some were waiting to be shortlisted for jobs.
Others lamented that the site had been down for over two weeks.
A section of Kenyans stated that despite lodging complaints, they had not been responded to while others claimed that their requests had been ignored.
Meanwhile, others accused the commission of a lack of transparency when it came to job listings.
"What happened to some job advertisements, no shortlisting up to date," one person remarked.
Additionally, a section of Kenyans questioned why the portal went down hours before the deadline for a few job applications.
The commission was also accused of a lack of transparency when handling government jobs.
