National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung'wah on Sunday took a swipe at Former Defence Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa for his refusal to append his signature to the final report authored by the National Dialogue Committee outlining recommendations geared at helping Kenya emerge from the current political deadlock the country finds itself in.
In a statement, Ichung'wah noted that Wamalwa was being insincere to Kenyans on the reasons he did not sign the report prepared by representatives from the Raila and Ruto camps.
The Kikuyu MP stated that Eugene had left a NADCO meeting on Friday ahead of conclusion of the months-long dialogue claiming that the former CS was scheduled to attend to a matter in Kinshasa.
"He left his blessings to the rest of their team (Azimio) saying he would sign when back," Ichung'wah stated.
The National Assembly Majority Leader who had co-chaired the committee with Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka claimed that Wamalwa was part of a team that had been sabotaging the process.
He claimed that throughout the process, there were forces that did not want to see the talks reach an amicable ending.
"They are at pains now that the process never collapsed as they pushed," Ichung'wah added.
This came after Wamalwa, earlier in the day stated that he was not satisfied with how the team had handled the issue of cost of living.
Wamalwa further added that he would not accept allowances since he felt Kenyans had been shortchanged by the process.
