Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, who was recognised among the Top 100 Kenyans 2023 on Thursday, December 7, revealed the Kenya Kwanza senator he believed was the most intellectual debater in the ruling coalition.

In an exclusive interview with Kenyans.co.ke, the ODM party Secretary General revealed that Nominated Senator Veronica Maina was the most intellectual leader he has engaged in a head-to-head debate.

According to Sifuna, the former United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary General was a debater who had her facts right and at her fingertips

"I think she is very smart. She is one of those people who knows her facts," he praised Maina.

During the quickfire session with Kenyans.co.ke's Edwin Kuria, the Senator, also listed the most incompetent and smartest leaders in the country currently as highlighted below;

Who is the politician who is significantly making more blunders, and why?

I think it has to be the President (William Ruto) because he does not have the capacity and does not know what he is doing. People who continue to embarrass him are his direct appointees. He is the one who chose those people.

Who has the potential to become the president if elections are held today?

Anyone other than Ruto. Any of the 50 million plus Kenyans. If you remove Ruto, the rest can be president.

Who is the smartest politician in Kenya today?

I think Mzee (Raila Odinga) is very smart, There are times that I think that I have settled on a path that is very clever and very smart. But when you sit down with him, he will give you angles until you will think through

Who is the most overrated politician?

It has to be Ruto again. I think he has sold himself as some political and economic messiah, but I think he does not know what he is doing, in all honesty.

Sifuna's take on his fierce debates with Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale

I consider him a friend, and I still know that Khalwale is a good man. If you scarp off that yellow paint that he painted himself during the last election, he is a good man.
