Over the year, various research firms ranked the performance of elected leaders as widely perceived by large sections of Kenyans.
Kenyans.co.ke takes a look at some of the notable rankings.
Governors
In October, research firm INFOTRAK published a list of the best and the worst-performing governors.
Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya emerged top with a 70 percent score tying with Homabay Governor Gladys Wanga.
Simon Kachapin (West Pokot) came in third with a 67 percent score closely followed by Kisii county chief Simba Arati who garnered a 64% score.
Murang'a Governor Irungu Kang'ata featured at fifth position with a 64% score.
In another report, research firm Insight Strategists Solutions (ISS) Africa ranked the worst-performing governors.
The worst-performing governors included Taita Taveta governor Andrew Mwadime with a 24 per cent score, Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi was also ranked among the worst performers with a 22 percent score.
James Orengo of Siaya was also ranked lowly with a 20 percent score.
Bomet governor Hillary Bachok at 19 percent, Issa Timamy (Lamu) at 18 percent) and Jonathan Bii (Uasin Gishu) at 16 percent closed the list of worst performing county chiefs.
Senators
Busia Senator and activist Okiya Omtatah topped the list of best-performing senators in Kenya with a 59 percent ranking, according to a survey conducted by INFOTRAK published on November 1.
Kirinyaga Senator Kamau Murango and Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot tied at second position at 56 percent.
The top five senators also included Makueni Senator Dan Maanzo at 52 percent and Nyandarua Senator John Methu at 51 percent.
MPs
Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro secured the title of the best-performing MP with a 70 percent score in the INFOTRAK survey.
Following closely behind was Kangema MP Peter Irungu at 68 percent.
Third place saw a tie among John Mwrigi (Igembe South), Gideon Mulyungi (Mwingi Central), Christopher Wangaya (Khwisero), Robert Mbui (Kathiani), and George Kaluma (Homa Bay).
Regional rankings highlighted outstanding performances, with Babu Owino (Embakasi East) being recognised as the best-performing MP in Nairobi, John Mwirigi in Eastern, Ndindi Nyoro in Central, Omar Mwinyi (Changamwe) in Coast, Naisula Lesuuda (Samburu West) in Rift Valley, Husseinweitan Abdirahman (Mandera East) in North Eastern, Wangaya in Western, and Peter Kaluma in Nyanza.
