President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel surprised their neighbours in Sugoi with foodstuff ahead of the Christmas celebrations.
The over 1,000 neighbours who were hosted at the first family's home on Friday received maize flour, cooking oil and wheat flour.
Ruto also gifted the residents packets of rice and sugar.
The Head of State and First Lady was accompanied by area governor Jonathan Bii and his Nairobi counterpart, Johnson Sakaja.
"The President and First Lady Rachel Ruto gave food items which included maize flour, cooking oil, wheat flour, rice and sugar, among others," a statement by State House read in part.
Ruto advised the residents and Kenyans to take time and celebrate with their families even as they remember families who are going through difficulties during the festivities.
At the same time, the President also took time to reiterate his achievements during the year highlighting health reforms as some of the key developments of the year.
He also thanked the residents and farmers across the country for heeding his call on food production and embracing his subsidised fertiliser programme.
"We have reduced monthly payments to NHIF to make it easy for most people. The Government will pay for those who do not have the means to pay.
"Under the affordable housing programme, 200,000 houses will be built every year. So far, more than 120,000 people have been employed in the programme," he stated.
Ruto has his family usually spend the festive season at their Sugoi home.
The Head of State has been in Eldoret since Thursday when he hosted children from orphanages in the county at the Eldoret State Lodge.
