Man Beaten to Death in Murang’a For Stabbing Estranged Lover

A man in Murang’a County has been beaten to death by an angry mob after stabbing his estranged lover. 

It was reported that the man was lynched by a mob in Maragua Ridge in Murang’a. 

Reports indicate that the man who hails from Gatanga had travellers to his lover's home in Gichagi-ini, Maragua Ridge Constituency, Murang’a county, with the intent to kill her

According to reports, the man first tried to attack the mother of the girl who was on the farm but was stopped by people who were nearby.

He then went ahead to the girl's homestead where he stabbed her causing life-threatening wounds. 

Before the man showed up at the girls’ home, the two lovers had broken up for over a year. 

The lady has since been taken to Muranga Level Five Hospital where she receives treatment.

The girl's mother confirming the incident stated that the man stabbed her daughter five times in the ribs.

Witnesses have further alleged that the man had unidentified pills in his pocket.

Prior incidences of such magnitude have been reported in the recent past in the county of Murang’a

In November, villagers who had been angered lynched a man in Gaturo village, Murang’a County after he killed his mother while quarreling over a plate of food.

Officers responding to the incident cautioned the public against taking the law into their own hands.
