Kenya Railways Transfers All Services to eCitizen, How to Make 8 Payments

Kenya Railways Corporation (KRC) has officially migrated all its services to the eCitizen platform in line with President William Ruto's digitisation of services drive.

In a notice on Tuesday, the corporation indicated that it will henceforth only accept payments through the platform made via the government-wide 222,222 pay bill number.

All services, some of which had been hosted on the Madaraka Express official website, will now be accessed through the platform.

They include commuter payments, freight services, real estate, restaurant services, terminal services, parking, Railway Museum, and training.

"We hereby notify members of the public that payments for all services shall only be made through the eCitizen platform in line with the presidential directive," read the statement in part.

Each service has a unique account number.

Members of the public are advised to make payments as follows;

Commuter services

To make payments for long-distance safari trains and commuter services, customers should channel their payments to pay bill number 222,222 and enter their KRCC followed by their name.

Input the amount and then the pin and make sure the tickets have been bought at the station of departure.

Freight Services

Applicants are advised to visit krs.ecitizen.go.ke and then select 'Freight Service Invoice Generator from which they will input their invoice number/range as well as the amount.

After making the payment, download the payment receipt and share it with the KRC team.

Terminal Services

For this service, only 3 terminals are covered including Nairobi, Malaba, and Makongeni.

In Nairobi, customers should input the pay bill number 222,222 followed by NRKP 'BTS number' then the amount and pin.

In Malaba, customers should input the pay bill number 222,222 followed by MALT 'BTS number' then the amount and pin.

In Makongeni, customers should input the pay bill number 222,222 followed by MKTM 'BTS number' then the amount and pin.

Railways Training Institute

Students looking to join the institute should log in to the student portal on rti.ac.ke then select the Financial option then Payment.

To hire facilities, customers should pay through pay bill 222,222 and refer to the website for a specific code.

Real Estate

To make applications in Real Estate, individuals and groups should Log in to krs.ecitizen.go.ke to access the application forms.

For rental, customers are advised to dial *222# then select the Make Payments Option and enter KRC123 as a service code. Then enter a serial number as the KRC Real Estate Reference, enter the amount, and select option 1 to confirm before completing the process by entering your pin.

Restaurant

For outside catering, interested individuals should make the payment to pay bill 222,222, enter account number 'KRRC 'first name' as well as the amount then pin.

For the purchase of meals, interested individuals should make the payment to pay bill 222,222, enter account number NRBR 'first name', enter the amount then pin.

In Nakuru, the services can be accessed through bill 222,222 then the account number NKRR 'first name', add the amount and pin.

Parking Services

For parking services in Nakuru, make payment to pay bill 222,222 then account number NRKP 'number plate', enter the amount, and then pin

Railway Museum

For entry and to hire facilities, log on to krs.ecitizen.go.ke and select museum then follow the process as guided.

Note: All services can be accessed through krs.ecitizen.go.ke, paybill 222,222 or USSD code *222#.
