President Wiliam Ruto unveiled the New Funding Model [NFM] to cushion needy students struggling to pay school fees.

The funding targets students joining universities and TVETs, but have already received letters of placement from Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS).

NFM is student-centred with loans and bursaries apportioned to applicants based on their level of need.

Students from vulnerable and extremely needy households receive 100% funding while the needy and less needy get 93% government funding and 7% for tuition fees.
