Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) fanatic Nuru Okanga claims to have joined St Aquinas Ebuchinga Day School in Kakamega County after sitting last year's Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE).
While speaking to a section of the media, Okanga stated that he delayed his Form One admission as he was engaged in corporate social responsibilities.
As students reported to school on Monday, January 15, Okanga was busy donating books and other school amenities in programmes funded by different stakeholders.
Despite reporting late, he lauded the principal for welcoming him with open arms, adding that the school would accord him ample opportunity to learn, keep up with the day-to-day politics and spend time with his family.
"People kept enquiring whether I would join Form One but I stated that I was providing support to other students by providing books and pens and now finally I'm set to join," he detailed.
"I have decided to join day school since I must maintain my responsibility to my family. We're supposed to be released at 6:00 pm but I will plead with the principal to leave by 4:00 pm so that I can also tend to matters of politics and also spend time with family."
The vocal supporter of Azimio lauded his wife for her support and standing with him in prayers.
"My wife has no problem with it, she will even assist me on this journey. We've discussed and she confirmed that she would pray for my entire journey in school," he remarked.
Okanga also urged ODM party leader Raila Odinga to facilitate his academic journey by paying his entire fees and rent.
"I plead with Raila to support this cause and pay my fees. We are his soldiers leading up to 2027. He should hold my hand during this entire political journey. Wherever you are, know that I have joined Form One at a time when the economy is hard so cater to my needs and pay my fees and rent for a full year," he requested.
Okanga declined to respond to Kenyans.co.ke inquiries on how he would seek bursaries from local politicians including Governor Fernandes Barasa who is a member of the ODM party.
The youthful politician made headlines during the release of KCPE 2023 examination results, with reports alleging that he scored over 400 marks.
Okanga, who sat the national exam at Mumias Muslim Primary School, played cagey with the claims and declined to share his actual results.
